Chain Reaction Truck Accident Results In Seven Injured

Several people, including three police officers, were seriously injured when the driver of a dump truck lost control of his vehicle and slammed into several other vehicles.

Officers & Pedestrians Hit When Dump Truck Crashes

According to witnesses, state troopers had pulled over and blocked one lane of traffic on a three-lane highway to assist a separate accident. The officers were talking to those involved in the initial accident when an out of control dump truck slammed into the police cars, multiple cars, and an ambulance, which was pushed into the back of a fire truck.

The dump truck also hit the officers and several pedestrians.

Seven people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries, including the three police officers. Two of the officers sustained serious injuries but are expected to survive.

The dump truck driver stayed at the scene. The accident is being investigated.

Truck Accident Victims Have The Right To Take Legal Action

Those involved in the accident have the right to take legal action against those responsible. The responsible party may or may not be the driver of the dump truck. For example, if the company that owns the truck failed to maintain it and a lack of maintenance caused the driver to lose control, the company would be considered at fault.

Accident victims deserve to be compensated for their medical expenses, lost wages, physical pain and suffering, and emotional trauma. That compensation can come through a truck accident lawsuit, or if the victim was working at the time, a workers’ compensation claim.
